Author Guidelines
Z-Islamica: Journal of Islamic Studies
Authors who wish to submit manuscripts to Z-Islamica: Journal of Islamic Studies are expected to follow these guidelines carefully to ensure a smooth review and publication process.
1. Scope of the Manuscript
We welcome original research articles, review papers, conceptual papers, and case studies that focus on, but are not limited to:

Qur’anic and Hadith Studies

Islamic Thought and Philosophy
 - 
Islamic Law (Shariah) and Jurisprudence
 - 
Islamic History and Civilization
 - 
Sufism and Spirituality
 - 
Islamic Education and Da’wah
 - 
Comparative Religion and Interfaith Studies
 - 
Islamic Economics and Finance
 - 
Contemporary Issues in the Muslim World
 
2. General Requirements
- 
The manuscript must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
 - 
Manuscripts must be written in English, Arabic, or Bahasa Indonesia with academic clarity and coherence.
 - 
The length should be between 5,000 – 8,000 words, including references, tables, and appendices.
 - 
Use APA Style (7th edition) for citations and references.
 - 
Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
 
3. Structure of the Manuscript
A standard research article should include the following components:
a. Title
- 
Concise, informative, and no more than 16 words.
 
b. Author Information
- 
Full name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and email address.
 
c. Abstract
- 
150–250 words summarizing the research objective, method, findings, and significance.
 
d. Keywords
- 
4–6 keywords representing the core themes of the article.
 
e. Introduction
- 
Background, problem statement, research gap, and objectives.
 
f. Literature Review
- 
Relevant theories, previous studies, and research positioning.
 
g. Methodology
- 
Type of research, data sources, sampling, and analytical tools.
 
h. Results and Discussion
- 
Findings, interpretations, comparisons with past studies, and implications.
 
i. Conclusion
- 
Summary, contribution, limitations, and suggestions for future research.
 
j. References
- 
Minimum of 20 scholarly sources, preferably from the last 5–10 years.
 
4. Language and Style
- 
Manuscripts must be proofread and free from grammatical errors.
 - 
Use formal academic language.
 - 
Transliteration for Arabic terms should follow a consistent system (e.g., ALA-LC or IJMES).
 
5. Figures and Tables
- 
Must be numbered and titled appropriately.
 - 
Include source and should be referred to within the text.
 
6. Submission Procedure
- 
All submissions must be made via the online submission system on the journal’s website.
 - 
Authors must register and log in before submitting.
 
7. Review and Revision
- 
All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.
 - 
Authors may be requested to revise their papers based on reviewers' comments.
 - 
Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the specified time frame.
 
8. Plagiarism Policy
- 
The journal applies a strict anti-plagiarism policy.
 - 
Manuscripts with more than 25% similarity (excluding references and quotes) will be rejected.
 
9. Copyright and Licensing
- 
Authors retain copyright.
 -
