About the Journal

Z-Islamica: Journal of Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access international academic journal dedicated to the advancement of scholarly research in Islamic studies. Published quarterly (four times a year) by Az-Zahra Media Society, the journal aims to provide a global platform for original and critical scholarship on Islam as a religion, a civilization, and a source of ethical and intellectual traditions.

The journal welcomes rigorous academic contributions that explore various dimensions of Islamic thought and practice, including but not limited to:

• Qur’anic studies and interpretation (tafsir)

• Hadith studies and the Prophetic tradition

• Islamic theology (kalam) and philosophy

• Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and legal theory (usul al-fiqh)

• Sufism and Islamic spirituality

• Islamic history and civilization

• Islamic education and pedagogy

Z-Islamica values multidisciplinary, critical, and contextually grounded approaches that contribute to contemporary academic discourse and public understanding of Islam. It is open to scholars from various academic traditions and encourages submissions in English, Arabic, and Bahasa Indonesia.

All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process and are evaluated based on their originality, scholarly quality, and relevance. The journal adheres to high standards of publication ethics as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and aims to be indexed in leading academic databases.
